We love Lifesong and Kingsland Baptist!

A couple of years ago our pastor made a comment in church about how our church should have an adoption fund for those wanting to adopt but the money was holding them back.  He has said that within weeks our church members had donated over $150,000 to this fund!

They partnered with Lifesong for Orphans to create grants of differing values (for international, domestic, foster care, etc).  We applied for ours back in October and heard word Wednesday that we were approved for the $5,000 direct grant!  What a blessing.

Above that, which we didn't expect, was fundraising support.  Starting just after Christmas we'll be announcing our new fundraising opportunity through Lifesong.  Basically, if you feel led to give, you're able to do so to Lifesong in our name, we receive the money, and you receive the tax deductible donation!  Technically we can start that now, so if you are interested in making a year end gift and have it count for 2011, please email us at newsomes4adoption [at] gmail dot com and we'll let you know what to do.  We've been so blessed by friends and family so far this year, we wanted to wait until after the holidays to hopefully get fully funded so all we had left to do is wait.

We've had lots of necklace and bead sales recently, and sold a few items, so to the right is our new updated total including the $5,000 grant.  We are so excited!  We have only 4 necklaces left and 2 bracelets.

Please continue to pray, we STILL are waiting on word from USCIS on our approval.  It's now been 7 weeks and we are being patient....
