Memorial Day Fun

We had a very busy weekend last weekend.  Saturday we woke up and helped Eric's mom move out of a storage unit his dad had.  It was his 2nd car workspace, as half of their garage houses the Cobra that is now Eric's brother Greg's.  We inherited a 1957 Chevy Bel-Air.  It's beautiful!  We got it started Tuesday night without having to jump it and took the kids for a QUICK ride around the block.  It doesn't have seat belts, so we have to stay close to home!  I'll try to get a picture to include before this auto posts!

We then spent the rest of Saturday with Eric's family.  His aunt, uncle, MeeMee, cousin and her little man came up from Corpus, so we visited, swam and went to dinner.  It was some good family time.  Of course, my camera found it's way to stay at home!  I have to get better at remembering it!

Sunday morning we gto up and attended worship, taught our 3 year olds and went to our ABF (Outfitters).  We are so blessed to be a part of KBC, what an awesome group of believers we 'do life' with!

We went back to Eric's mom's house and had lunch and visited a little while longer.  Once the kids showed it was (past) naptime, we headed to my parent's house.  We had dinner with Mom, Darrell, Bailey, Matt, Shawna and Sterling (her boyfriend), and Kristal, Tommy, Hailee and Glenda.  We swam and ate a yummy dinner made by my mom.  It was very relaxing!  We don't get to do that often enough, we only all wish Jack could have been home with us!!  He was definitely missed!

Monday morning we woke up and tried to keep the kids out of the pool as we had some old friends coming over at 10.  They wouldn't let us, so we finally gave in and the swimming began again.  We blew up last year's little pool/slide thing, that had too many holes to count in it (thanks Eric and Mom for patching those!) and Micah enjoyed that, though the water was COLD!

Silly Girl:

My friends Kendra and Trayce, and their kids and hubs came over to swim.  It was a lot of fun!!  Cara (though we put floaties on her because there were so many people in the pool) was much improved from last summer, when she could barely stay up in floaties!  This year she's all over the pool.

Micah liked it, he really likes daddy pretending to throw him.  As soon as Eric would get him, Micah would say, "READY!!" and the countdown would begin!  Here are a few more pictures of our day.

Micah ate about half a watermelon by himself.  He was sucking the juice out of the rind, it was hilarious!!

Sweet, sticky kisses for Yaya.

Cara and her silly pose again:

Playing in the little pool again:

Posing, waiting for the sunscreen to dry!

And again with the silly hat! :)

We are so thankful to our military for giving us the freedom to live in this country!  All veterans, including Eric's dad, are prayed for and much appreciated, and we cannot forget to remember those who gave the ultimate price for our freedom!!

Nostalgia....

So a friend has been emailing me about Micah's birth vs. Cara's, etc and so I was emailing her and answering her questions.  Then I went to my blog (basically my online scrapbook) and looked up Micah's birth story to send her the link.  Then I started reading.  All my posts from after he was born.  Wow it got me excited to meet this new little girl (that and the 3 little girls that have been born by friends the past 5 weeks!).  And I'm having big time nostalgia looking at how tiny he and Cara were.  Look at this little video on this post.  It is SOOO super cute!   And if you have an extra 45 seconds, please go watch this one!!!  Oh when I see Cara then and Micah now, I can hear how much they sound alike.  And I just love her little singing!

Micah Man

Well, he turned 18 months way back on 4/25.  We got him in for a quick appointment as those weeks were crazy, and his stats were:

Height: 32 1/2 inches (59%)
Weight:  27 pounds (67%)
Head Circ:  19.13 inches (73%)

Cara was 30 pounds at 18 months, if that gives you any indication.  He's definitely solid, but not AS heavy.  Thank the Lord because I can barely carry him now!  Of course, I wasn't even pregnant with Micah when Cara was 18 months, so that probably makes a difference.   We recently cut his hair for the 2nd time.  The first time was at Cool Cuts for Kids.  I go there for their first time, but won't pay $17.95 for a cut for a boy anymore than that!  So my friend Valerie and I went to town one day after dance class.  Here's a before (notice the curls/LENGTH!):
And here's the after:
I have gotten so many compliment of how big he looks lately.  I completely agree!!  He has SUCH a vocabulary.  Cara was still signing away at this point.  Micah signs here and there, but he has no need for most of them because he just SPEAKS!  Cara barely spoke more than a few words at this point.  He basically repeats any and all things Eric, Cara, Aynslee or I say. He's my 2nd little chatterbox.  This third one HAS to be quiet, RIGHT? :)
My parents kept the kids back in April for a weekend, and here are some pictures they took.  Micah and Sissy (as he likes to call Cara):

Playing Peek-A-Book under the table with Papa:

Here's our little man, he loves playing (and thrashing and buckling) sissy's stroller!
Well that's our little man update.  All 3 covered.  Maybe the next post I can post about stuff, I've been doing! :)

Last day of Dance class

I'm trying to get all caught up with pictures!  Tuesday was our last day of dance class!  Next Tuesday is the dress rehearsal in the evening, and then Saturday is our recital!  I can't wait to see Cara all dressed up for that, she has been practicing (it's funny how she could care less about the dances until she got her costumes!) mroe and more and is really getting good.  I have no expectations however for the actual recital.  If it's anything like last year's Preschool Christmas program, she will just stare into the darkness for the whole show! :)

Here is Aynslee, Cara and Ms. Kathy on the last day:

And here are the girls are on the first day:

Here's the first day too, yep, Cara in time out :)

The girls were so tired of practicing for the recital that Ms. Kathy let them re-live an old dance, the Moster Mash from Halloween:

Cara overall had a great year in dance.  Those 12 little girls are the cutest things in their little leotards and tutus.  Cara has said that she wants to do gymnastics next year instead of dance.  I was all for it, but then we got the costumes.  We'll see how she likes the recital before we make our final decision, I just love her all dressed up, and so does she!! :)

Quick Cara Update

That girl is hilarious.  She comes up with the funniest things sometimes.  One morning she was playing quietly in her room.  Eric had a band concert the night before and his (my old from SFHS!) garment bag that his suit used to be in was sitting open in the living room.  I walked into her room to see what she was doing, and she had climbed into the bag and partially zipped it up.  I asked her what she was doing and she said, "I'm like Jesus, he died (this one story bible we have has pictures of him wrapped in cloth and being carried to the tomb), and got covered up, and then rose again," then she unzipped it and burst out! :)  Here's the sequence (because of course I made her do it again!).  No child was hurt in this, yes, I zipped her all the way up for pictures!

I'm Risen!!  Just like Jesus!! :)

She's been very entertaining lately, and instead of running from the camera POSES big time anytime I pull it out (which is not very often lately).  Here's her favorite pose:

And another pose, she was with Aunt Bailey at her first shower for baby Jack:

Cara also had her first dentist appointment in early April.  I of course forgot my camera, but my friend Meredith watched Aynslee and Micah so she let me borrow hers.  Here are some pictures:

Talking to her new best friend.  Girl has never met a stranger.

Counting her teeth.  That's about all she'd let them do.  When the dentist came in and tried to use the 'pokey thing,' she completely freaked and he almost scratched her becaues she started thrashing.  Fun times :)
And again, her silly pose pre-going back:

Yesterday was her last day of dance class, I will get those pictures off my camera soon and post them.  Her recital is coming up 6/12, can't wait!! :)

One more, we took this at my parents house this weekend...That's Darrell's hat he wears when he wants to have hair ;)
