It's all about who you know ;)

So yesterday I posted about searching for a local agency who does home studies.  Today, a friend emailed me (who was leaving for her 10 year anniversary trip to Hawaii TODAY) with a referral to a friend's sister who does them here in Houston.  I looked into her and asked if she'd done any for Uganda.  We've been corresponding all day and it looks like we'll get to use her.  The best part, with the friend referral, she's a good $300-$400 LESS than any other price we've heard of.  We are super excited about this, and getting the home study done soon so we can begin applying for grants.  However, with the cheaper home study comes 2 payment fees due to our agency in the next little bit.  So please continue praying.  We will be starting some fundraising efforts as soon as possible.  If you are in the area, we are going to be hosting a HUGE garage sale where all the proceeds go straight to fees like this.  Please consider donating some items you don't need or want anymore that are taking up space in your garage! And again, it's all about who you know.  We KNOW God called us to this, and we KNOW He will continue to provide, as long as we are prayerful, diligent and obedient!

I guess I'm a bit behind here, but I'm so excited to see that you guys are adopting. It's been such a huge blessing to the Ward family. My older brother, Tim (he was in your grad class, Misty) and I were biological half-siblings and were blessed to be adopted by the same family and be raised together. I'll be praying for you guys.

I have a desk (it's a girl's desk, but I used it until recently, so an adult can use it too) with a chair that I want to sell, but you could take it and let Cara use it or sell it. The only prob is I'm in Austin, so if you guys are coming here or have someone who will be in Austin who can bring it to you, that would work! I can email you pictures if you want. :)

I cam across your blog while googling "uganda adoption". We too are considering a Uganda adoption through lifeline. Papers are actually sitting on my table. I was JUST telling my husband last night that it would be nice to know someone who was adopting through lifeline in Houston and prayed that God would reveal someone to me. So needless to say, I will be checking in on your blog often!! Blessings in your journey!
